Land

Land brings a field indoors. Wild grasses, dried flowers and soil collected at the edge of Berlin lie in a low bed across the gallery floor. They are lit from behind a translucent screen printed with a pale sky, so the meadow looks the way it would to someone lying in it.

The installation reflects on the land we think of as ours and the land we only pass through. Over the course of the exhibition the plants dry and fade and the work changes with them, recording time as slowly as a landscape does.
