Day Dream

Day Dream is a series of digital prints made from photographs of a meadow outside Munich, where Serin spent her childhood summers. Each image is taken with a long exposure and vertical camera movement, then layered with old family slides until the field becomes closer to a recollection than a place.

Flowers stay sharp at the bottom of the frame and dissolve as the eye moves up, the way a memory keeps a few precise details and lets the rest go soft. The work treats daydreaming as a form of remembering: unfocused and unreliable, but still true.
